Soraya Moon: A Journey Through Oriental Dance and Fusion
Biography:
Soraya Moon is a talented dancer and dedicated instructor specializing in oriental dance and fusion. Her passion for dance ignited at an early age, and she pursued various forms of training before discovering her true calling in oriental dance and fusion styles in 2006. Over the years, she has honed her skills under the guidance of renowned national dance figures such as Iris Lican and Piny Orchidaceae, and has also participated in numerous workshops with international artists like Sharon Kihara, Joana Saahirah, Cris Aysel, and Baltazar Molina, among others.
In 2021, Soraya was awarded a prestigious scholarship to study at the international online school Datura, founded by Rachel Brice, a prominent member of the Bellydance Superstars. Throughout her career, Soraya has performed with various musical projects, including Yossi Sassi Band, Advent Mechanism, and Camerata Ophiussa.
With her group Ignis Fatuus Luna, Soraya has delivered original performances and shared the stage with acclaimed names such as Moonspell, Opus Diabolicum, and Albaluna. She has also graced festivals like Entremuralhas in Leiria and Darkest Night in France. Her talent extends to medieval fairs, where she has collaborated with Ágape and Dorahoag.
In 2017, Soraya embarked on a personal exploration of movement, leading to the creation of her solo show “Indómito,” which premiered in September. In 2019, she collaborated on a large-scale video production with French artists François Rousseau and André Atangana for the project “Les Paysages.” Today, Soraya is focused on developing her school, Studiis Anguis, and expanding her artistic universe through new performances and projects.
